Chainsaw Man discussion thread

Part 1 could work.
Anyways, I finally found a good Primal fear matchup and the first thing that happens is that it's apparently dead as hell, why no one participating bruh
because they aren't as popular as the others like makima, Denji and etc😔

and genuinely I think Killer Queen or yoshikage Kira might actually be the only matchup that could be good, considering killer queen is 8-C like Part 1 Eternity

augh, Once Sukuna vs Makima Matchup finishes grace, I'm gonna do other Makima Matchups that I saw People like in R/deathbattlematchups cuz why not

however I need some opinions on which matchup I should do and is a good idea
considering some Im gonna list could be stomps

Let's see
-Makima vs Alucard (Stopped because a stomp)
-Makima vs Sukuna (Done)
-Makima vs Gojo (Also done but it seems Majority chose Makima in the most recent thread I can found and it's apparently a stomp)
--
-Muzan vs Makima (uh Ionno about this)
-Makima vs Alastor (I'm probably gonna restrict makima to just 8-A cuz the AP difference would just be 2x if I did infact do this matchup)
-Kenjaku vs Makima (pretty sure the 16F Sukuna vs Makima was originally this matchup)
-Tooru vs Makima
I'll just uh reply to this for someone to see

-Makima vs Gojo (Also done but it seems Majority chose Makima in the most recent thread I can found and it's apparently a stomp)
Was accepted as a stomp
-Muzan vs Makima (uh Ionno about this)
Muzan has no wincons
-Makima vs Alastor (I'm probably gonna restrict makima to just 8-A cuz the AP difference would just be 2x if I did infact do this matchup)
Never watched Hazbin Hotel, so maybe?
-Kenjaku vs Makima (pretty sure the 16F Sukuna vs Makima was originally this matchup)
Had to change it cuz it was a stomp
-Tooru vs Makima
Tooru @Chariot190 diffs

IIrc his blood can achieve cellular level deconstruction if he injects her with enough of it. Not sure if it would count as "foreign body continuous damage" like power's tho.
That's more effective against regeneration iirc, so in best case scenario it will just be undone by the contract (however, it will hinder her from reconstructing her body to its original state for a bit)

soo, is this a viable matchup now or does muzan still have no win-cin

I'm confused @ElajRuengies. You said Yoru's Gun Gauntlet was only that powerful because the strength of Yoru's weapons amplifies depending on how much guilt she accumulates when transmutating them, meaning the Gun Devil's power in the Aging Devil Arc was only because Yoru amped it immensely as you said, not because of it's own power. If this is the case, why does the current CSM scaling for High 7-C and 7-C that stem from the OG GD which stems from Yoru's feat in the AGA when said GD was amped.

Also, why isn't Pochita Mountain level and is instead just City level via tearing through Aging even when the profile for Aging says he's Mountain level in durability? And should Darkness Devil be Mountain too?

Are we okay with using the latest Chainsaw Man renders for the movie on profiles, considering they are the canon designs now?
Absolutely not, we should just have both. I refuse to let the Season 1 Artstyle be forgotten.

Also wow I missed some discussion, think I clicked "unwatch" on accident.

(Note: If I suddenly stop responding for like a month despite people pinging me and I haven't announced my leave from this place, either I've somehow lost my phone, laptop, and any of method of getting on the intetnet, or the cumulative 100-ish bucks I've donated to Palestinian relief efforts over a year has somehow gotten my ass deported, despite how I'm a citizen.)

Since Elaj has important matters to attend to, oh hes back, I'll be taking over for him

That's because it wasn't Yoru's weaponification feat at play. Yoru's target only transforms into a weapon upon reaching a certain range of her, an example being the soap sword. The feat actually stems from 28% of the Gun Devil, who busted through the side of that mountain in order to get to Yoru, and then upon reaching a close range, transformed into the Right Gun Gauntlet
Also, why isn't Pochita Mountain level and is instead just City level via tearing through Aging even when the profile for Aging says he's Mountain level in durability? And should Darkness Devil be Mountain too?
The Aging Devil has a possibly rating when it comes to scaling to Mountain level. It stems from Barem's statement of Pochita being feared on the same level. Which could or could not be true.

They legally can't deport you for that, freedom of speech and expression protects you. Stay safe though, I've heard some crazy stuff's been going on over there

But anywho, pushing that background fear aside because the news is depressing;
Perhaps, but with such large tier gaps, curbstomps happen. Like I said before, I don't believe CSM has the best overall fights, and I think the fact that there's chainsaws prevent many more intricate fighting styles or fighting techniques from being displayed, but at least I know what to expect when a powerful character appears on-screen.
"You call swinging chainsaws around a martial art?"

"Hey, as long as it works!"

That just shows they became comparable; don't see why it's that big a deal.
The issue is that two of them are explicitly not comparable; Yoru one-taps Pochita and Yoru's strength isn't a match for Aging's, yet Pochita and Aging are on similar levels assuming Barem's not lying for no reason. But this is a topic that's been talked about before so I'll drop it.
Makima's got hax that caught Darkness Devil off-guard, and was literally about to die had she not gotten herself and everyone else out of Hell.
Speed issue rather than a power issue, next CRT we're just assuming that Makima used Future plus other stuff in order to get the one-off, before Darkness stopped everything else she tried after.
I don't get this one.
Spear Man can pierce through Pochita with his spears, and regular civilians can pierce through Post-Fear Boost Denji with spears, despite the huge difference in strength.
I mean, we know shit about who or what Fumiko really is, so I wouldn't put too much weight behind that one as an inconsistency.
Fair, but still funny to think that Fumiko's the most durable human(?) in Chainsaw Man.
Don't have much to say about this one. Maybe she didn't fire seriously or at full speed cuz she assumed it was just another weaker pseudo-Chainsaw Man?
Yeah, except that Denji specifically told her that Fakesaw was different from the other Pseudo Chainsaw Men.
And that's why you guys are awesome.
Aw, shucks- Just for that I'll shelf my evil plans to downgrade the Verse to Low 7-C- Oh wait, Gunshy already made that joke.
On Aki's page in his post ambush stat section, the note for Small Building list 57.15 Tons of TNT. Can someone fix that?
Done.

I just want to make sure, do you know that The Onion is a parody/satire website?
I am very well aware. Unfortunately reality is also a parody, and I didn't wanna have to link actual articles about Trump ignoring Supreme Court rulings, or born-in-US Citizens being deported with no due process, or a judge being arrested for not letting ICE deport more people, or Trump being given the power to fire two heads of federal agencies, including the motherf*cking chair of the Quasi-Independent FED, Jerome "2nd Most Powerful Person In US" Powell.

(As someone doing a Minor in Economics, trust me when I say that's a BIG F*CKING DEAL. The FED is basically the 4th Branch of the Government. And it's largely independent because Politicized Business Cycles are one of the worst things that can financially happen, after "Just Print More Money.")

Fair enough.

Yoru "one-taps" Pochita with a special move that required sacrificing the index fingers of 400,000 people. Even with her other Bang attack, she caught Pochita off-guard since she summoned her two "children" to replace her arms when she'd lost both her limbs. Once he knew what to expect, he deflected Yoru's bang. As for Yoru's statement about Aging, Yoru is referring to Aging's overall hax and unique abilities. While Aging was able to stop and disintegrate Yoru's Gun Goddess attack, it's because he already saw it being used and was prepared. That doesn't mean it wouldn't have damaged him if it had hit.

Both seemed to have their fingers pointed at the same time, and both attacks landed. It looks as though Darkness simply underestimated Makima and how much force he would need to tear her apart when compared to the others. I don't think it should be looked into that deeply.

I tend to just assume the weapons are uniquely made and durable, not to mention spears are made to pierce. So yeah, I guess you're right that it's kinda like Wolverine's claws.
Yeah, except that Denji specifically told her that Fakesaw was different from the other Pseudo Chainsaw Men.
All Denji said was, "that one looks like a bigshot." That doesn't mean he told Yoru to be on guard or anything, or that he was uniquely powerful compared to the others.

Unlike most people on this website, I don't see downgrading any verse as "evil". I don't care about seeing a verse I like get upgraded to the highest level possible. If anything, what pisses me off is when people decide to arbitrarily boost verses to ridiculous levels based on hyperbolic statements or how "there's a star in there" or "it's a pocket dimension" when the author clearly never intended such feats to be directly related to their AP or when such feats are never replicated in a destructive potential. All I care about is consistency with what's shown on-screen, and if that happens to correlate with downgrading a verse, so be it.

Fr, The "pocket dimension with stars" feat is one of the things i disagree the most in this site. No joke, it's what like, 60% of 4-A characters scale to, and most of the verses who scale to that barely reach planetary levels of power in both feats and general lore.

Same thing with LN verses that remake the same cosmology upgrade over and over with different semantics/interpretations of the exact same sentence with "oh, before we would call this part extreme hyperbolic, but since last upgrade was accepted now it makes sense". (And this often leads to very unstable ratings where the same character keeps changing between tier 2 and tier 1 non-stop).

I'm glad to see there's someone on this site who agrees with me. It feels completely arbitrary and irrelevant: the only reason authors would ever add those stars and planets in the sky is because it's just necessary to maintain the visuals. People don't want to see a black empty space, and I'm positive the authors never draw those stars or planets with the mindset of "that means they're strong enough to create entire stars and solar systems."

There've been far too many blatantly exaggerated upgrades that completely go against the power shown by characters throughout the series, and yet that's ignored because "the math checks out" or because it's ok to upgrade to ridiculous levels based on our own interpretation of what it should mean. It's what's discouraged me from the site and scaling in general. But at least with CSM, we don't have to worry about that... for now...
