Sonic General Discussion Zone Act 1: New Frontiers

Otherworld Comedy states the Perfect Chaos clones could one-shot base Sonic, and they are shown to match Super Sonic, yet VS Battles still has Perfect Chaos at 2-C. If you're correct, then Chaos should be 1-C to match Super Sonic then, I think.
which makes no sense because the perfect chaos from adventure that Sonic fought, was defeated by Base Sonic

The Otherworldification are "illusions" the same as this one, so you debunk yourself by considering that Infinite a continuation of the original but not this one.

Phantom Ruby illusions are as strong as the original. This Infinite is stronger, ergo Infinite got stronger. That simple. Using Otherworldification works for me since it shows illusions can follow up states past the original's demise.
Except that said continuation explicitly was a continuation. He had free thought, could remember previous events, etc. And it showed him INCAPABLE. Ergo, this CANNOT be a continuation.

Why? He could be incapable because everyone otherworldificad was nulling everyone. By using Otherworldification you concede illusions can be continuations.

Do we know that Infinite is an illusion during Otherworld Comedy, by the way? Reality manipulation makes more sense for bringing someone back from the dead, like how it could have done for Pachacamac as well, since he was a character we could vote on for that, and how people from other universes were pulled into one universe.

Actually, the Infinite there is the real deal. The plot regarding the Cognitive Dissonance Energy, and the small bit at the end of 12 where he poetically ceases to be once again, definitely implies as such.

Yes. They were all illusions brought into reality. The entire plot was everyone's fantasies becoming real because of the Ruby. People also forget Zavok in Forces had his personality and could remember Lost World, as well.

I personally feel doubtful on this meaning illusions, and not reality manip.. Thank you for your response still.
Well, both can co-exist. Remember the original explanation given of the Ruby's powers by Tails. When somebody inflicts pain using the Ruby's illusions, it's as if you're being hurt in a dream but the damage is being done to you in reality.

So Subjective Reality (for the wielder regarding their illusions), with a dose of Reality Warping and a sprinkle of vocabulary regarding being illusory.

We never saw stronger illusions than the original, ergo current Infinite got simply stronger.
Minus the giant metal sonic boss, tougher than the other metal sonic clones & with extra powers.(This metal clone's expection rather than the norm, I admit it)
And not to double post, but I feel like the use of the word illusion automatically garners downplay regarding the Ruby's abilities. Oh well, that's what comes with mid writing
Simular to how some people wanted to downplay the Doomzones as merely illusions. Kinda funny how certain areas in there have a wierd energy effect like Infinite's Virtual Reality

Most of the mystery regarding the Phantom Ruby can be explained by the fact that originally Sonic Mania had nothing to do with Forces, so whatever was behind Mania with all of its dimensional and temporal shifts (Directly measured by machines) had nothing to with illusions that affected your brain.

But the moment you get the Phantom Ruby with all of its statements about being "virtual reality that affects the brain", but have to get to explain all the non-sense that had nothing to do with it in Mania and Classic Sonic using it to travel across time (When originally in Forces Classic Sonic was just a solid illusion), you get something that both creates very realistic illusions and also warps actual reality.

Not that you can't have both powers in a single thing, but the problem with the Phantom Ruby is that you can notice how the stories don't fit together and the intent is unclear due to how all over the place the plans were at first.

In the beta script for Sonic Forces, Valtron was a VR maker that Infinite was built to use. Forces is as finished as a SEGA game, so they left Infinite's backstory unchanged and probably just replaced all instances of "Valtron" with "Phantom Ruby". So Mania depicts the Phantom Ruby as a reality warper, and Forces as a virtual reality maker. Thankfully this leads to zero misunderstanding ever at all

Oh yeah, Forces says Infinite has "the" Phantom Ruby too, like how in Sonic Wars he had the finalized Valtron device. But, we know he doesn't actually have "the" Phantom Ruby, and so it's kinda a **** up of continuity, in the script.

I personally like to think of two Phantom Rubies

One being the one from Mania, that is a reality warper of unknown origins. Then in Sonic Forces Eggman finds the original Phantom Ruby and tries to mimic its powers with no success, but is still able to tap a bit into it (Like making some dimensional holes and creating the Null Space), so he instead decides to use it as the basis for a virtual reality inducer that can create the same results as the original, but limited to the mind of those affected by it.

This is why Death of the Author is a VS Debaters greatest friend. And you know what they say kids. In fiction, contradictory things can be simultaneously true. Because fiction is MALLEABLE.

That's Chickenhawk for you. He's gonna EAT chicken at the Japanese KFC.
LMAO!

What you thinkin' the Sonic and Knuckles' Car Theme would sound like? I'd imagine a cool mashup of two of their best themes.
NGL? I was thinking Nu Metal or Rap rock of some kind may be the way to go. Think of Mike Shinoda from Linkin Park, and his solo ventures with Fort Minor. Or maybe some Papa Roach, since some of their songs are fairly rap heavy. Knuckles is the rap associated one, Sonic is the punk rock associated of the two. Something like Nu Metal or Rap Rock adjacent just feels natural to me.

Couple of his GT7 tracks already sound like some pretty good Sonic tracks to me:

Someone else with taste I see. Frankly, this is one of my favorites. Certainly has a Sonic Riders type vibe to it. Feels fitting of the mid-2000s era.

That'd go hard asf. Can imagine the theme using motifs from their songs and mixing in with original stuff to level it out without it being just a mashup.

Really annoying how Sonic just keeps getting downplayed to like 13-14x universal and quadrillions c at max with people I talk to, just so other verses can be argued to stomp all over them, like people arguing Ryuko stomps Shadow now because the arena fighter made her trillions of x universal (not that I disagree with that buff in particular)
