Pokemon Discussion Thread - Red & Blue arc

Tbh i gotta catch up as well i saw screenshots of a shiny Zygarde i gotta figure out tf is going on
 
Y'know, Arceus was kinda designed before they really realized how strong they wanted to make him. I think if they designed him today, he would look like the Nameless Deity from Terraria.
 
Instead of whatever Pokemon is making in the anime right now they should make a story about a rapidash race across the unova region where the protagonist is paraplegic and uses his awesome Pokemon to fight the Unova Champion because Arceus told him since the champion is trying to use Victini to make Unova the ultimate region. It'd be good I think.

They haven't? Really? They even did a Pretty Cure parody in the Sun and Moon anime with Lilie, Mallow and Lana and we have Lokix a Kamen Rider reference. Weird they haven't referenced Super Sentai.

There was an implied one called the Ability Warrior on the Gen 6 TVs, though we don’t know if he was actually real lol. A much clearer one was Barry and Selene forming a superhero team together.

Can’t really post images rn but why are we now trying to say Trainers physical stamina scales to their Pokémon just because of a Masters EX screenshot? On the Maylene page (scaling aside)

Thought it was agreed we don’t use Masters EX scaling without a proper CRT, let alone having to take that dialogue option straight out of context. It does NOT mean trainers have comparable stamina than the Pokémon that actually do the fighting

Why the **** would we agree with that? You're the only one who hates Masters. Also that's not "scaling", either.

That's not really scaling, just using lore and information in Masters. And no, Masters is fine to use for that stuff since it's accepted as canon on the wiki.

I don't know if I agree with giving Trainers Superhuman stamina for that, though.

It’s not about hating it, it’s about the fact it’s obviously not canon

Either way there is No way you literally think the trainers exert just as much physical energy giving commands to their Pokémon as the Pokémon trainer themselves literally battling and fainting. The only case you can put that together with is Ash and Greninjas battle bond but even then that’s more just intertwining souls

I don’t doubt Maylene doesn’t have intense physical stamina in herself if she’s anything like Bea, but please stop taking throwaway dialogue from a non canon source so literally

You either agree with taking dumb statements like that as literal to try and act as if trainers have stamina comparable to their Pokémon or you don’t.

Masters barely gives any relevant applicable scaling we should consider since it’s literally not mainline canon and set in its own timeline. Literally just make them separate profiles instead of lumping it in with mainline

Point is the guy is using material from a game we clearly unanimously don’t agree with in it being canon to mainline, that he hadn’t made a CRT for, and then going ahead to use it to scale a stat on the wiki anyway

I’d say the same for tryna scale Maylene to tier 2 just cause you can fight her post game (with no canon indication the main character even struggles in that battle, let alone uses the legendaries they capture), but that’s just treading old ground I ain’t got time for.

Why are you taking Masters over mainline canon in the first place? (other than because it’s the Xenoverse equivalent to Pokémon that lets you say all these characters are Tier 2)

Literal crossover mobile gacha game that outwardly messes up the timelines to excuse the fact all these trainers are here in one place so they can farm money, and you’re trying to say it takes precedence over the actual games?

Man, ALL of that was wrong. There's even a reason characters are there that shouldn't be, since Lear's Hoopa rings people from alternate dimensions.

Yeah, alternate dimensions. With no way of saying they’re comparable or the same versions of the ones from mainline. And with you’re then trying to say takes precedence over canon mainline games

If it’s telling you things that make it seem as if crown tundra never happened or the protag beating Leon is a ‘retcon’, then I wonder why your immediate action is to then say masters is the canon timeline way over it…

Since you clearly need to be spoonfed, he also rings people from the dimension we're already in, and many people travel there normally without being ringed.

Why don’t you find an example of Masters EX being referenced in a mainline game idk.

Otherwise, you’re actively inserting info on pages that have been mutually agreed upon to be non canon scaling applied to a mainline profile, without making a CRT which is against the rules

Masters EX takes place after every game in the timeline. You really have no idea what you're talking about.
