Are we gonna treat Rex saying Mark was lifting the moon as a hyperbole? I mean, I guess it might be. Prolly a bit too crazy lol.
Also, they explicitly depict his travel speed as being like sub-relativistic or so. That's quite a huge anti-feat.

(basic explosion yield with some mid level pixel scaling got me around ~4 Teratons of TnT)

What does it matter if there's an impact or not? You can still calculate the dust kicked up. That's how Omni-man has his low 6-B rating.

What that got to do with current Mark supposedly scaling above Anissa? Not like his growth rate can't plateau a bit once he reaches the higher levels.

Massive amounts of dust was kicked up and away at high speeds. We supposed to ignore that? Moon bench-press thing is like the most obvious usage of hyperbole ever. I don't think the flight scene nerfs anything. Majority of that moment was put into Mark's perspective/POV where it doesn't even look like he's getting closer. And he clearly slows to land on the Moon then rebound off - then there's the whole got lost thing, he can't exactly navigate at top speed when he doesn't even know where on Earth (literally) he's landing.

I never mentioned Anissa, but if I was, I'd have to say it's literally speculation on Donald's part. Regardless, it's more relevant to characters like Giant and the Maulers, and the creatures within the Earth. Also, most of us know his growth doesn't platue for a while. As I said before, fights > training. With such a relatively low degree of growth, it's easy to see he gets more out of his fights, and we're not shown anything be happened between seasons (bit of an argument from ignorance, but unless anything comes forth in support of something having happened, idk).

How much do you think Maulers scale to current Mark? And with them, Oliver too?
How so? His level pretty much stays the same from around the first Conquest fight until he gets bisected by Thragg and revived with a stat boost. Show seems like it won't much have much time-skips this season, maybe a month gap between E3 to E8?
Btw I timed his return trip from the Moon to Earth (from when the shot of him leaving the Moon in the back with the flung debris ends, since I believe there's a bit of cinematic timing there, otherwise he'd zip past it in the shot, even at the lowest end of speed he'd get from this feat) when he touches the atmosphere, and got 2.66s. Honestly, factoring in him getting lost, it shouldn't be seen as a downgrade at all. S1 Moon feat took 3.67s, and that was a few thousand km above the Earth's surface initially? The first shot of his POV when flying at the Moon could be used as evidence for accelerated perception when flying, since it didn't seem at all like he was getting closer in the seconds that shot alone lasted. This, coupled with the shot where he karate-chops the reanimen around him, and it all seemed to be in slow-mo.

Well, Post Omni-Man fight Mark could handle them just fine, and yet they could still pin him for a moment here. Tether Tyrant is the one who benefits most though. Oliver is an interesting case, because we know most heavy hitters will hold back, but he can still take the Mauler's hits, which could TKO Immortal.
You're right, actually. I guess I forget that he jumps up after the Thraxa fight and stays in the general Viltrumite sphere of power. Like, he does get stronger from just between each Conquest fight (near fodder to near peer), but it's nothing like the crazy jump prior. I guess it comes down to how different the show, because Mark has the benefit of Viltrumite scaling sooner, but things are much lower than what they will be (the show will benefit from motion, though the nuke might be less impressive)
It should be a downgrade because he was both exhausted and should've much faster than he was at that point (unknown time during those 90 days of training, but still). This training montage is definitely one if those moments where creators don't really understand consistency, which Kirkman did better in the comic. That iceberg lift was painful to watch, though I enjoy the lava bath scene.
By the way, whatever happened to the simple spacing to separate quotes sucks.

Durability in this show fluctuates so damn much as well. It's like the characters are just as durable as whatever the production wants in a scene. So damn annoying. Mark shouldn't be getting pressed by literally anyone, but it seems like his durability is also tied to how much he is trying as well?? It's strange.

Could it be a case of alt versions for Maulers? I noticed the S2 fight had ONLY the alts jumping and beating Mark to a pulp - the main universe two didn't join in and kinda just stood there at the back til they got fried.
I hope they don't butcher the Viltrumite power hierarchy in the show. It's already iffy currently, given that Mauler bs at the start of S2 and Thraxa fight, now Oliver to Mauler thing and Mark ~ Anissa thing. It really doesn't feel like Mark should struggle with random worm insects, even though normal scaling would just dictate the worm is simply that strong. I can't imagine Anissa struggling with any of the creatures of Earth 1v1, given the impression she left in her episode. Altough a lot of these comic feats have been getting nerfed, I still think Viltrum will get amped. RKE from the explosion i'm predicting will be some crazy shit like dwarf star level, as most cartoon planet-busts seem to go. Higher than planetary by default since it won't take 20 mins after they impacted for it to fully blow up and eject out to infinity.
It's semantics at this point. Travelled similar distances in lesser time but powerscaling heads question why he isn't no-diffing it instead. Like, I don't think they give a f..k about these specific details like time-frame discrepancies - it all means the same. Mark is gonna get MFTL feats by next season and scale to the guy who would be MFTL by this season (even tho MuH atmosphere). Even though they animated him buckling under the weight of the iceberg, you'll see him no-diffing shit 100 times above like in a few episodes or something. It doesn't really matter at the end of the day. Otherwise that sub-400 ton statement from the comic (which is clearly just an asspull number Kirkman didn't think hard on) would've been devastating to the scaling as a whole.

Barely how it works even for humans. And it doesn't apply to faces either. It's mostly the cosmetic damage this show loves to put on every character. Mark would bleed from Maulers then no-sell and explosion which vaporises all of them. Characters would often bleed to stuff that are a billionth of their upper limit of durability.

Comics seemed more consistent in that regard. After a certain point, Mark didn't really take any damage from Earth shit anymore (bar Powerplex, but that was basically just his own power bounced back). Later, obviously, there's Robot shit but that was about it.

The main ones do join in, though they were crushed by another version.
I understand that the iceberg thing is a fairly common type of anti feat in comics. Invincible just had the benefit of not including many lifting moments, and that when it did, it was something like the empire ship throw.
I agree that the Viltrum feat will most likely be a lot better in the show. I have little doubt in my mind that they'll put a ton of budget into it, and that the time frame will be like Asgard or Alderaan. I wouldn't be surprised if Mark says something out how beautiful it looks, and that it's way bigger than Earth.

I lost all hope of power consistency in season two when the mauler twins started beating the shit out of invincible. Hard to take the threat of a viltrimite invasion seriously if an army of maulers can just bash in the skull of any viltrimite that decides to try and attack the planet. Also how do they nearly kill invincible yet an explosion that vaporizes them does nothing to mark? That's honestly my biggest peeve with this show.

I always thought that was stupid and made no sense.
This would also explain why they think Mark growing that 238% in strength might well be enough to deal with Anissa; because that's just what the writers think it's enough to bridge the difference in their power.

Really? I'm sure I thought the main ones fought him initally and weren't doing well, so the alts were sent in and it was basically only them hitting him. Main ones took a backseat (prob not intentionally but I remember them not being among the ones animated hitting him).
