Can separating the soul from the body negate a godly regen? I ask this because the soul isn't being destroyed neither is the body but instead the 2 are being separated from each other so the body becomes a husk, and the soul is just floating outside the body.

It's ultimately case-by-case, but the vast majority of the time I would assume that the soul will just regenerate a new body around it.

From what I seen most regens have special circumstances like destruction of the one or the other but they never elaborate in what's happens in the case of separation.

The only ones that do elaborate are like "revert back Z-point"

That's why I was curious

In general, the regeneration is triggered after the soul is destroyed, so I wouldn't assume the soul creates a new body, or the body spawn a new soul, if the spirit is ripped out of the body, not without feats.

This is what I agree with.

That leads me to a new question.

If a character doesn't have feats of existing as a soul independent of a body

Would it contact as an incap by SBA rules here?

What, Low Godly regen still can regen complete destruction of physical body, soul destruction reach to Mid Godly territory...

Anyway back to the topic, it is case by case, evaluate based on feats and contexts. But to be honest, most of profile with these kind of regen never actually describe it in detail on how they actually work, its weakness, etc...... They just slap a: can regen from ...........destruction and then call it a day, leading to a situation where people assume the regeneration perfomance left and right in the vs match

this sounds like a common issue that should be addressed because this could make a world of difference of some matches on the wiki, and possibly make more interesting matchups

Low-Godly definitely doesn't trigger when the soul is destroyed, but when physical destruction happens. And from the perspective of the soul, physical destruction is what happened. Typically the regen doesn't know whether or not an intact body still exists somewhere else. Just like how mid-high regen doesn't know whether the arm that was just cut off is still intact somewhere or if it was incinerated.

Higher forms of regens also typically already trigger to lower damage. Like, Mid-Godly characters usually start regenerating an arm if you cut said arm off.

As said, it depends somewhat on mechanics, but I really doubt typical regen will care about the presence of a body.
