If the girl is cursed to not elaborate in something then it can be anything; curse manipulation is a pretty vague power, the curse could induce amnesia so the guy forgets the exposition, or could do some King Crimson shenanigans and "skip" the exposition, without context one can even say the guy is oblivious or suffers of amnesia.
