How do you calc bow energy?

I don't really know how to put it into words.

But let's say a character shot an arrow 20 Metres away. Is there any way to calculate the energy it would take to do It?

At least from the Bow (Real World) page, it seems to use Kinetic Energy

I don't think there's any extra energy required to shoot an arrow even farther. You just need to aim your shot higher if you want to shoot farther.
