Hypothetical, if Jiren's powers is to move at the speed of light, and let's say no one is faster than him, until Goku surpassess him, and this becomes a BIG deal in the story. Will all calcs be debunked or will the ToP Arc most strongest character be accused of PIS? What will happen? One of Toppo's members, Dyspo, is already claimed to be the Sonic Warrior for his great speed. MFTL >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Sonic

If that happens, websites all across the digital multiverse are getting riots of apocalyptic proportions.

I don't think anything will be changed until we get some ultra-official interviews and sources, confirming such, as I can imagine people everywhere are not about to revise all these profiles and battles and such.

Even though I doubt it would happen, since we see Beerus fly from the center of a nebula to another planet in a minute and a half. Even speed o sound sonic in OPM is faster than just mach 1.

It would be a case of "Writers Don't Know Math", and a massive case at that. That or everyone getting outdone by him is PIS, but I doubt that. That or only the gods keep the MFTL+ rating and Goku keeping up with them is PIS, but I doubt that as well.

IIRC, Beerus feat has and assumed timeframe. Whis Timeframe was 22 (average anime episode) minutes from an assumed distance. Are those calculations gonna be thrown into question too?

No.

Feats >>>>> Statements.

If the characters are constantly crossing universal and multiversal distances, then they aren't just FTL.

Even if the whole story arc is center into surpassing light speed? That would make previous feats outliers?

But they used assumed timeframes or distances. That alone makes the calcs invalid with the new canoninfo.

Here's a question, @Matt. What if it was said that mortal bodies cannot sustain going FTL without help from a God, lest they turn into light themselves?

I'm asking in the case of Steven Universe, as Gems can't go FTL or they lose their physical forms, but Lapis has an MFTL(+) feat.

From what distance exactly? That speed feat is with an ability of Whis's staff. How do we add that to combat speed? By Beerus distance travel speed? Sorry if this has been brought before, I'm confused. I need to clear my doubts.

The DBZ 'universe' just got nerfed in size though, didn't it? Wasn't it decided that the DBZ 'multi-verse' (the collection of the 12 universes) is universe-sized?

I guess it can be assumed that the 12 'universes' are equal in size and therefore comparable to 1/12 the size of our universe, but I'm not sure that is a good assumption to make. I would personally make the assumption at Universe 6 & 7 are equal in size, but not necessarily equal to the others.

I agree, If people have shown multiple casual MFTL feats against once or it is said that a character is going to speed up the light, we will count the feat. Ex; Speaking of this In Saint Seiya, several characters declare to make attacks at the speed of light while they have feat MFTL

To be fair, the only speed feats in DBS were made by the gods when using the Warping, the other ones made in combat or without the Warping are pretty underwhelming. Maybe, when mentioning the lightspeed thing, Toei or Toriyama use real physics, in that case lightspeed = "infinite speed".

No, it's 12 universes each the size of one universe. And busting the multiverse is 2-C, just like busting the 9 worlds in Marvel would be 2-C. Time flowing simultaneously in the entire multiverse isn't a factor, it's frankly so common in fiction that I am ashamed I used it to downplay Zeno.

I thought the fact that characters can just fly from universe to universe without warping leads to the assumption that DBZ universes are not universe size. Correct me if I am mistaken.

This is getting off topic, very quickly. Could a mod close this thread? My question was answered. Thank you to all people who answered in the best of their ability. I don't want this to become a thread about the universes size.
