As far as I know Naruto is on a revision face.
But as for now, I would Gaara because of superior skills and abilties, while Max has a good amount of power, he is not really thay skillful

Gaara should take this due to his ability to fly, pseudo "blood bending" by putting particles of sand in his opponent, and his mom's protection making him very hard to hit.

gaara due to more versatility, more sand, living sand which max can't control, and since this is sasuke rescue arc gaara he has shukaku if he really needs it.
