Ichigo speed upgrade?

Pre timeskip bankai Ichigo is currently placed in the high hypersonic range, however that it much lower than what he has shown. Ichigo fought Gin who has a bankai that can move at Mach 500 speeds. Ichigo was shown to very clearly react to Gin's bankai in 3 sperate occasions, so saying that it's an outlier isn't an excuse.

http://www.goodmanga.net/bleach/chapter/404/16

If you look at the last one you can see that Ichigo reacted to Gin's most powerful attack, meaning he has close to Mach 500 reaction speed

Ichigo also has shown combat speeds similar to Gin's bankai. In their fight Ichigo evaded Gin's attack and then dashed at him while at the same time Gin was retracting his bankai. Ichigo then got to Gin at the same time that his sword retracted. So Ichigo moved at similar speeds to Gin's bankai

http://www.goodmanga.net/bleach/chapter/400/12

So this is what I propose be done for Ichigo's speed

Option 1: high hypersonic with massively hypersonic reaction speed (reacted to Gin's bankai on 3 sperate occasions)

Option 2: massively hypersonic combat speed and reaction speed (reacted and moved at similar speeds to Gin's bankai)

Everyone who would scale would include most pre timeskip characters including:

Yamamoto, Soifon, Gin, Unohana, Aizen, Byakuya, Sajin, Shunsui, Tosen, Toshiro, Kenpachi, Mayuri, Ukitake, All vizards, espada above 8, Uryu, Isshin, Yoruichi, Urahara and probabaly zangetsu

Also Kubo wouldn't have taken the time to make Gin say that (and even have a scene where Ichigo comments on how dangerous the speed of Gin's bankai is) if it wasn't true

He only lied to Aizen not Ichigo
Any evidence to back up your statement?

It could had been the same number to avoid Aizen from finding out about the lie. Use scans to back it up.

This is a topic that's been beaten to death over and over again god knows how many times. It isn't going to happen.

Yea disagree for the same reasons. Also it doesnt matter if lied to one person and not the other. A lie is still a lie and frankly it doesnt make sense to say Gin was telling the truth to Ichigo but was lying to Aizen. It's like if I tell one person im rich and I tell another it was a lie, im poor.

It should be noted in the Bleach page thar this topic shouldnt be discussed.

Ignoring the flaws with Gins bankai speed theres a tonne of other issues also.

Firstly, The first image is Ichigo reacting to a slash, which is not the same as the extension speed of the sword.

Secondly, the second image is clearly aimdodging, and as Ichigo mentions, it's far too fast for him

Thirdly, Ichigo was so far away from the sword anyway, thus making it easier to react to, and unscaleable to his reactions. hence the last sentence on the speed page under reactions: "Reaction speed is reacting to an attack that you don't know is going to happen, or at a very close range."

Fourthly, for the third image, On top of what I said in the third point, Butou Reijin moves repeatedly moves back and fourth in a thrusting motion, making it much slower.

@LordAizenSama I would appreciate if you could write a regulation for the Discussion Rules page, in order to avoid repetition.

"Please do not try use Gin's supposed Bankai speed to support a speed upgrade for Bleach , as this discussion has grown tiresome from being repeatedly argued and debunked" should work.

@Amlad22 0.0 I don't know what to tell you man but it's 110% a slash

Clearly we are seeing different things. Gin jumped back and then thrusted his sword towards Ichigo. That's not a slash it's a thrust. I understand not giving Ichigo massively hypersonic combat speed but reactions should be logical. Otherwise he should have never been able to keep up with Gin and dodge multiple thrusting attacks from him

My guess on what happened is that Gin shot his sword and then as it was extending he swung it to the side. That would explain why he made a thrusting motion but ended out looking like a slash. It should still count as reaction speed

@LordAizenSama I have added the rule, and linked to this thread within it. To make it easier for visitors to understand why this topic is forbidden, I would appreciate if you could summarise the problems with Gin's bankai speed. Thank you.

Well it comes down to whether or not Gin told the same speed value to Ichigo and Aizen, which he later tells Aizen he lied about it's speed.

Though it's much more logical that it is indeed the same speed, because:

1.Gin told Ichigo that value with Aizen present on the battlefield. Gin carefully plotted his betrayal against Aizen for over 100 years, If Aizen overhears this then it will blow Gin's cover, or at least put him under suspicion. For no real reason.

2. Gin telling Aizen his bankais speed was a lie was more for the readers, than it was for Aizen. These two never discussed this on screen, and it's pretty clear from author intent that Kubo regreted Gin's stated attack speed, otherwise there is no reason to throw it under this suspicion in the first place.

So at best, it's a possibility. At worst, well, It's just not true. And to use that ontop of the already faulty speed upgrade arguments above and it becomes to ridiculous.
