Star Wars Canonicity

I have made a blog post regarding the canonicity regarding the novels here.

ChaosTheory123 has also provided assistance with answering a question that was lingering her for a while (regarding Star Wars), so he gets my utmost gratitude.

So, feel free to share your thoughts here in this thread. It would be preferable if the blog was free of excess posts for the time being.

EDIT: I'll just post what is in the blog here in this thread.

@ChaosTheory123 states:

@kyle_newman @HolocronKeeper: The novelizations of the seven films--including The Clone Wars--are canon.
To clarify, movie novelizations are canon where they align with what is seen on screen in the 6 films and the Clone Wars animated movie.
As for what this means?

@ChaosTheory123 states:

Basically saying they're canon so long as the content in a given part of the novel doesn't contradict the films.
So shit like the slip jaws and mention of how fast the ships were moving over Coruscant and the like is fair game where any mention in the narration to things like Labyrinth of Evil are not *shrugs*.

We're hardly the only ones using them either, been a free for all on Comicvine with them too.

And there is no such thing as G-canon anymore in Disney. There is canon and non-canon. Only in Legends does that tier still apply.

You also have the fact Del Rey included them in their timeline on top of the fact the novel covers lack the "Legends" logo.

Star Wars Timeline

That maneuver was not mentioned or performed on the screen or DVD release of Revenge of the Sith, for the speed calc. It's not even in the script. The only thing close to that was the buzz droid scene, and there is no special name for what Anakin did to save Obi-Wan.

Listen, this post I'm making is not a personal attack, but an attack on the logic he is presenting in his statement. Chaos is not word of god in regards to Star Wars or canon, he simply presented things he found regarding them and cherry picked his calc as if referred to something in the film. Chaos is really banking on not including a time frame in the film in which we can see this actually happening. he should include in what chapter, in what minute:second instance this happened. His calc was a scene in the battle in Revenge of the Sith, but not actually in the film version, only the novel. Chaos strongly believes it is however, but his word is not fact, regardless of how much we do respect his opinion, we must remember people are wrong and why he does state that the scene he calced is in the film when it contradicts otherwise is unclear.

I left a lot of info out of this post but I do not possess the free time to address this fully. I will be on wikia normally next week.
