Don't see Ryuko winning. even with speed equal it's still unfair.

God damn another KLK thread? lol

Anyways it's obvious that Kratos severely outclasses Ryuko in fighting skill and versitality. However (assuming this is GoW3 without Power of Hope) Ryuko would be 16 times stronger. So one good hit and Kratos is out. His fighting skill may help him avoid some of Ryuko's attacks if he can spot her telegraphing her moves. However with speed equal he won't be able to dodge everything. And if he attempts to block his limbs are probably going to break, incapacitating him for the most part.

Kratos does seem to have two dura negating techniques (petrification and absorption) But how does his petrification work. Does it start on one part of the body and gradually spread? If so Ryuko can probably rip that part of her body off and regenerate it. And if his absorption isn't immediate she could just fight back and defeat him before he's finished. Even if these two moves could definitively work on her I think the likelyhood she'd be able to land an attack otuweighs the chance of Kratos immediately using these lesser moves and realizing they're his one chance.

Ryuko like 6/10 all with VERY high difficulty.

@Battle thanks for clarifying. My vote still (hardly) goes to Ryuko for other reasons.

Well I don't doubt that Kratos has weapons that could put her down. My doubt is whether or not Kratos is immediately going to use these as opposed to the huge amount of other things he has/going h2h with her which will lead to him getting one shot. I feel the latter is more likely but I guess you could say I am kind of inconclusive as well since this is more of a circumstantial outcome.

Kratos will die before realizing he needs to use his variety of moves outside of melee combat. Even if he does figure out quickly that he's outmatched in a straight fight the time it would take him to figure out which of his various moves would be useful here would be too much.

People seem to assume in these threads too much that this is league of legends or something where both fighters already have perfect knowledge on what each other are capable of, know the matchup inside and out, and have practical experience in applying the optimal strategy needed to win that specific fight - but that's not the case.

They will go in with their bread and butter most common tactics at the start and then feel each other out and only start deviating from their normal fighting patterns when things aren't working well for them. That's just logical.

In this case kratos will get rekt in the initial exchange of blows and won't have time to recover from it in order to fish around in his powerset to find some ability that would be specifically useful here, especially not without knowing about the limits of the regen he's facing from the start.

since kratos is more faster than her, kratos would just suck her to pocket dimension. Or perhaps slowing down time and petrify her

^ No bfr so no pocket dimension, and for what reason would he start the fight using a bunch of random powers when he normally mows through enemies with his physical attacks until he discovers he needs a new strategy?

nah. how do you know if he would start the fight using physical first ?

if kratos can access his magic and weapon. sure he would just spam his hax. just look kratos vs the furies final battle. Kratos can use his hax in QTE

so conclusion kratos can use his hax depends what situation is. Anyway kratos is not just brutal and bloodlusted, he has good intelligence using magic and weapon. the brutal part is only creative way and effective way how he would kill his opponent.

I feel like this bears mentioning again so I should probably make a blog post about it, but anyway...

Standard battle assumptions say that unless otherwise specified they are fighting in character. In character neither of these fighters, or almost any fighter really, would instantly resort to thier ace in the hole or any particularly unusual tactics at the very begining of a fight where they don't have any sort of read on the other fighter yet.

They would almost certaintly treat each other as generic fodder until shown otherwise, and though this wouldn't take more than one or two exchanges its enough of a distinction to note that kratos isn't going to start off the fight by pulling out a medusa head or any other sort of wierdly specific move when he normally would just hack and slash his way around except when that doesn't work - and likewise for ryuku she's more likely to run in and get into a sword fight with kratos at the very start rather then try and pull a city sized scissor blade on him when for all she knows he's just some dude in face paint.

They also don't start the match with any prep time, which also includes them not having perfect knowledge on each other's abilities and weaknesses. Kratos wouldn't know to use tactics that counter regen beyond his ability to damage through until he's seen that regen in action, and ryuku wouldn't know wtf a medusa head for example does or how to avoid its effects until it comes into play, by which time it may be too late.

These aren't dbz characters or anyone else who have 'power level' sensing or combat instinct like saber that warns them to be 100% on their guard for a tough opponent, these two will need to fight for a bit just to realize that they are against serious opponents.

So again, the way I see this playing out given that they don't have knowledge of each other and are in character is that they immediately get into a melee fight, kratos will be a bit faster and land the first hit, but won't expect ryuko to tank it with regen without breaking stride and obliterate him in one shot with her own hit that lands just after kratos's does.

In a fight where kratos has full knowledge going in he surely has plenty of tricks up his sleeve that ryuuko will not have any easy eay to deal with and so he would probably win given his speed advantage, but in character with no prep time this goes to ryuko.

Edit: I actually did just go and write a blog post: Commonly Forgotten Implications of Standard Battle Assumptions
