It can make a difference, but probably won't here.
In this battle, Darkrai has more hax and given that Bowser's Existence Erasure seems to take a bit of time (the same reason Peach and what's her name could interrupt it, I'd say Darkrai can slip with with Precog and Sleep Manip, Petrification, or BFR.

I didn't take time he just got interrupted I dont think he'd be able to sleep dreamy bowser since he resistance to Eternal sleep and self substance type 3 but I'm not sure since that hes wincon mostly via Darkvoid. Can darkrai bypass EE (since his EE is thought-based) Sealing/Soul_manipulation, tranmutation etc

Btw, likely not a stomp, cause Bowser does have Existence Erasure and while Darkrai resists it, he's not immune to it. Also, Bowser is technically smarter than Darkrai. The latter, however, seems to have more go-to options. Basically, it's at worse 8 out of 10 times Darkrai takes this, imo.
