So you know I just had to do it. Light is armed with a gun and the death note and knows he's gotta kill the guy. Man With No Name doesn't know of Light's intent, just knows a malicious man might ask for his name. Speed is equalized
 
I don't think Light has any way of out-shotting MWNN if he were to use the gun, and seeing how easy it is provoke MWNN I don't think psychological manipulation might do any good for him. Lack of prior knowledge won't do any good for Light either.

MWNN takes this 9/10 times
