I wonder what would have happened if they fought

Anakin-VS-Grievous-the-anakin-skywalker-fangirl-fanclub-28186348-400-499
Let's say that for some weird timeline error, Anakin ends up face to face with Grievous before their canon real meeting
Anakin Skywalker

General Grievous

Canon versions used. Anakin by the end of the Clone Wars and Griveous has his trademark 4 lightsabers

Both are in character

They fight in the middle of a Venator Destroyer, empty

Music

Anakin, his superior to Obi-Wan in almost every way, superior Duelist, superior force wielder ect ect.

Anakin won't let Grievous escape like Obi-Wan did.

Anakin Mid difficulty

I'm going with Anakin high difficulty.

We see in the Dark Disciple novel and the later stages of the Clone Wars that Anakin has advanced to the point that Kenobi is actually willing to let him face Dooku alone. That is the man who trained Grievous to begin with. And Anakin's Djem So is pretty much an offence oriented Soresu. If Grievous was unable to overcome the master of Soresu, there is no way he is overcoming the master of Djem So.

Anakin is easily at least comparable to Grievous in terms of raw physical strength with Force augmentation. And if Quinlan Vos could run rings around and humiliate Grievous, Anakin surely can (he was one of the fastest Jedi of his time).

As far as their overall combative style goes: Both are at home using their physical strength to power through an opponent's defences. However, Anakin has proven that he can resort to fluent fencing moves to bypass an opponent's defensive wall and then disable them. We've seen him do this once with Dooku (in ROTS), the master of fencing in Star Wars. Now, unlike Obi-Wan, Anakin does not really make tactical uses of the Force, preferring instead brute force attacks. But this is more than enough. Obi-Wan has twice overwhelmed Grievous with powerful telekinetic blasts (once on Kamino and once over Saleucami). Anakin is much more savage with his telekinetic attacks. He'd also be more than willing to use unorthodox moves such as Force crush to do damage to Grievous's armour plating and/or limbs. Anakin also wouldn't be above actually stealing a lightsaber from Grievous via the Force and using that in conjunction with his own.

Anakin in a decent fight. Grievous' only advantage is speed and technical skill. Anakin is stronger (above Obi-Wan who bent Grievous' arm "like a spoon" in the ROTS Novel), more skilled in reality (Beating Dooku who has never lost to Grievous), and can just crush him if he gets annoyed enough.

anakin. people listed very good reasons above, but ill just put in some more- the difference in agressivness between him and obi wan is humoungous- he'll jump on that ************ like he is crazy lol that, and he has beaten people who have beaten greavious

Oh, were talking about the version of General Grevious that got his ass handed to him by Gungans. The one whose only kill was a jedi padawan, which he only managed by pulling a gun. If General Grevious can't take either Kit Fisto and needed body guards to take Eeth Koth, no way can he take the Chosen One.

Grevious's fan blades can beat the master of "try spinning, thats a good trick"

didn't grievous kill more people? i mean i remember vaguely that he killed jedi in the clone wars cartoons. wasnt he one of the most feared jedi killers? he uses the sabers as trophys for his kills. heck i remember him just stomping on a padawan killing him with the other jedi paralyzed with fear.

i mean i guess i still vote for anakin but still

Sadly this is purely canon, so no EU including the Tartakovsky cartoon and comics. In the EU General Grevious killed Adi Gallia, fought five jedi at once including Aayla Secura and Ki Adi Mundi! Only time he was ever even phased was when Windu crushed his rib cage. In that fight, using the EU versions of the characters it would be much closer, depending slightly on if Anakin taps into his rage and uses the force to crush Grevious like Windu did. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-2koUoG7pJk

There is the old 2003 Clone Wars cartoon by Genndy Tartakovsky. To my understanding it is not currently disney canon, which consists of the movies, Rebels, Resistence, a handful of books, and THE Clone Wars (more on that in a bit).

Clone War

Instead Clone Wars fits into the Legends/Expanded universe canon with only one or two retcons to fit comfortably with the book Labrynth of Evil by James Luceno. It has the most powerful, competent, and, in my opinion, best iteration of General Grevious, aside from being one of the best cartoons ever.

2008's The Clone Wars, abreviated TCW, is entirely Disney/current canon. Attempts have been made to coincide it with Legends/EU canon, but characters and factions like Asaji Ventress, Quinlin Voss, Darth Maul, the Mandolorians and General Grevious are almost completely different in personality, backstory and ability.
