I don't know much about Kotal but if he can create forcefield, energy beam from different part of his body, it's probably gonna be a bad idea for Kars to try to go for the absorption first as it is not instant (it works by sprinkling the victim with strong digestive fluid). Moreover Pillar Men have demonstrated that their internal organ are much less durable than their exterior. So Kotal can potentially one-shot Kars if the later let Kotal inside him.

So absorption can be useful if Kars badly injure Kotal but I doubt it can be the sole argument for his victory (if he does win).

The fluid is instant. When Wammu walked by Mark, Mark's body where it made contact with Wammu was instantly dissolved. When Santana touched the vampire, the vampire became completely digested on contact. As for the dura thing, when have they demonstrated that?

It was slow enough that Joseph could wait until most of his body was inside Santana before activating any Hamon energy. And attacking from the inside was the main way he could damage him.

He could only attack him from the inside because attacking the outside didn't work. That doesn't mean his inside is weaker physically, it just doesn't have the acid.

Kotal can cover himself in actual sunlight energy to resist absorption and possibly vaporize him from the inside if he gets absorbed. Also Kotal can use sunbeams to snipe him.

It doesn't mean that Kars is immune to sunlight, it's still going to burn him since this is a pure energy beam from the actual su not Hamon. The sun shining on Kars isn't going to harm him, but Kotal's powers will.

If Kars can adapt enough to take a bath in lava, he can adapt against sunlight too. Funnily enough, Kars can also use sunlight offensively with Hamon if at range and at close range, it'll be a combination of RE+Absorption.

He would have died if he staye din the lava long enough actually
Actually, he could have stayed there as long as he wants. He can generate the shell indefinitely, has enough regen to compensate for the minor heat damage and doesn't need to breathe any longer.

He juat got out because there was no point in staying in the lava.

@Tactical It was actually flat out stated that he would only be able to survive in the lava for a few minutes before his armored failed

So Kars is,lowballing to a minimum, 200 times stronger than someone who scales to being vastly superior to someone who is 765kg of tnt while Kotal one shot someone at 267 tons of tnt. Who has the advantage?

You're correct. He can stay for a few minutes only. However, who has the AP Advantage and is Kars'absorption faster than Kotal's burning?

Is there a reason why you allowed Kotal to act OOC even though, considering all that has been said, he does seem to have tools necessary to fight fairly against Kars?

He is willing to use his OoC moves, not use them immediately. Besides, he isn't bloodlusted and all he needs is to use his solar powers which is totally in character for him. Nothing changes if I restrict that anyway.
