The Thing vs The Ditto

Assuming Ditto can't turn into any other Pokémon, and with SBA, I believe The Thing takes this due to being a better Thing? It's hard to explain.

Inconclusive? If Ditto morphs into the Thing, then best case scenario is both try to endlessly assimilate each other and the more likely scenario is The Thing ignores the transformed ditto. If the the Thing gets to Ditto before it transforms then it should be able to fully assimilate ditto since nothing suggests that Ditto's changes would overwrite the Thing cells in it's body.

In my oppinion, the most likely resault is Inconclusive unless something else comes up.

If that was the case all Ditto matches would, normally, be incon. But they are not so there has to be a reason for that.

I just realized I said two different things in my previous post. Ditto would need to be a perfect copy, right down to the cellular level, for this to be inconclusive, otherwise the Thing should win via superior transformation abilities.

"Capable of reorganizing its cells to transform into an exact duplicate of its enemy. It is usually a shapeless blob."

Can't ditto transform into other Pokemon from memory though?

Cal, how much mass is the Thing starting with here?

Yes and no.

"Ditto rearranges its cell structure to transform itself into other shapes. However, if it tries to transform itself into something by relying on its memory, this Pokémon manages to get details wrong."

"It transforms into whatever it sees. If the thing it's transforming into isn't right in front of it, Ditto relies on its memory—so sometimes it fails."

Right, Cal, so if you may, could you specify in OP if Ditto can turn into other mons and how much mass The Thing gets?

Dog sounds best here, since otherwise Ditto would be quite literally unable to see the Thing.

In that case, I give it to Thing. It has more experience being itself and has shown to be able to carry out complex maneuvers, and intelligence is basically one of the few factors that matter when your opponent copies anything else.

Plus, the Thing will likely know more about having to kill itself on a molecular level than Ditto.

So Thing after a decade-long battle, basically.

TL:DR The more experienced, more cunning, more intelligent, more informed, and more murderous Thing wins.

Are you sure that isn't turning into the weakest Mon? Since turning into The Thing means you are The Thing, not The Thing plus some extra tiers in durability and AP.

I still believe Thing wins since The Thing will know that Ditto can regen from cells, Thing!Ditto will not.

The demon's in the details here, I think. I'm pretty sure Ditto can change the structure of its cells, not the cells themselves. So, I'm gonna side with The Thing FRA.

"It has the ability to reconstitute its entire cellular structure to transform into whatever it sees."

So, Dog-Thing vs Dog-Thing but less murderous, less intelligent, less informed, and less cunning.

I'll give it to the original after a long fight.

Voting Incon tbh. They just try to assimilate each other endlessly once Ditto transforms.

Just conferming my vote for Incon. With Ditto transformed, it's be a war on the cellular level and both would probably destroy each other, but if Ditto transformes back the Thing wins.
