Dig Dug is High 7-A?

So, I looked over the Dig Dug page, and I noticed something odd. While it does well noting Taizo's feats from his original game, it forgot about a certain feat he was capable of in the sequel game, Dig Dug II. As it explains in the Wikipedia page:

In this game, Taizo Hori (the player's character) is armed with two weapons. One is the pump from the original Dig Dug, which is used to inflate enemies until they bust. The other is a jackhammer, which can be used at "fault lines" on the map to create faults in the ground. If both ends of a system of faults reach the water, the ground surrounded by them will sink into the ocean, killing all creatures on it, including Taizo himself if the player is not careful.

This video shows this gameplay in action, including the feat in question.

So, in essence, thanks to Taizo's jackhammer, he can essentially break islands apart and sink his enemies to the bottom of the sea. So, does this give him a Small Island feat, or does this not matter in the long run?

That island seems very small..however this could just be purely based on the limitations of the hardware of time.

I do think with those sizes it should qualify as an 8-B to 8-A feat if we take it at face value, but if those islands are supposed to represent real life sized islands and was just merely held back by the hardware then High 7-A would be fine

That sounds about what I expected. I'll go ahead and contact one of the mods for their opinion as well.

Bumped to attempt to get a mod to look at this.

Again, bumping since I think this is important.

Okay, let me go ahead and try another mod to look at this.

Yeah, High 7-A or above is destroying a Large Island; like at the very least large enough to contain a mountain. I doubt the feat in question is any higher than 8-C; the Island looks barely big enough to contain a house.

I would argue with this due to what Shadow said before. It may look small, but that could be due to the limitations of the hardware. I will be willing to settle for 8-A or even Low 7-C, but 8-C seems a bit underwhelming considering what Dig Dug shows in this game.

As much as I love Dig Dug, even if it was a smll island level feat, it's done through attacking weak points in the ground and creating fissures, nd as such is a chain rection.

Unless we see actual houses or other stuff to compare it too, then the highest we could compare it to is Dig Dug himself and assume he's normal adult height. But even that won't yield any higher than Tier 8.

Let me drag everyone's attention to the box art for Dig Dug II.

Dig Dug II Boxart
Those are palm trees in the back there. Now, the average coconut palm tree is roughly about 80 feet tall, or likely 8 stories tall. And while I'm not entirely sure how far away those are from Taizo's location there (anyone willing to do those calculations are more than welcome to), the distance between Taizo's and the tree in terms of his perspective of its distance indicates that it's a pretty sizable island he's standing on.

That looks... Better, but it's still preferably to calc those kind of stuff.

In response to this, let me also bring you to the ground broken away by Dig Dug on the box art. Not only does the box art show Taizo chipping away at the island, due to the grass poking unnaturally over the edge, but there's the matter of the height. While it doesn't show how tall this island is exactly, once again we can work with the distance via perspective angle due to the waves of the ocean below. Unhindered ocean waves tend to, on average, reach from around 20-50 feet, but let's assume the maximum here.

Now, again, I'm composing a request to have these distances calculated, but I believe this not only shows that this is a very sizable island, but that Dig Dug does have the strength to back up this claim as well.

tbh, I made this when I had little idea what I was doing, and I think this needs to be redone. Though, it definitely will give Dig Dug a lot more than what he had previously if finalized.
