Mario/Luigi, stop hitting yourself!

Mario seems to be more versatile (Possession, Transmutation, Stat Buffing/Debuffing, Time Manipulation, etc), so, I think I'll go with him.
 
i think i will go with luigi. doesnt the Poltergust 5000 sucks people souls? if so, i think he gets the upper-hand on his inferior brother.
 
Mario has strength and experience, Luigi has speed and agility and a hell lot of more unique powerups.

Tied in strength, durability, etc

I'm pretty knowledgeable in this franchise, so I'll run over both competitors. Mario has the FLUDD, making him more versatile and agile. Mario does have Cappy, which lets him possess others. Mario has a strength advantage, as he was able to go toe-to-toe with Antasma while he was being amped by Dreamy Luigi. Mario can lift slightly more. Mario is likely slightly more intelligent. However, Luigi has lightning and air manip. Luigi can also create the Negative Zone, which is a deadly attack. Luigi is more light and his feet, and is faster than Mario. If Luigi needs to, he can BFR Mario with his Poltergust. It's also notable that Luigi has a better win-loss record than Mario in canon, and has defeated foes Mario couldn't, such as Bowser and King Boo. All in all, I'm voting Luigi.
 
Luigi for reasons above, he overall has more exclusive abilities than Mario does, PolterGeist 5000 > Flood, and can counter Cappy. Only Luigi has lightning and air manipulation, he's the faster and more agile of the two. And while Mario does usually have a higher strength rating, some people speculate that the only reason is because Luigi's nicer than Mario. Although, Mario is generally the more tactical of the two; but Luigi's negative zone more than makes up for that. All in all, due to hax and versatility, Luigi is the more powerful of the two.

Additionally, it should be noted that Luigi knows more about Mario, than Mario knows about Luigi, so that's another advantage Luigi has.

Also, doesn't he have invisibility/intangibility he can use? His special cap in Super Mario 64 DS gives him that IIRC.
 
Yeah, there are a couple abilities that should be added to Luigi's profile.

Anyway, Luigi wins 7-1-2 Grace Period can begin.

They both have all of the power-ups they've ever used.

Read the OP, both characters were bloodlusted, so the whole bravery thing is irrelevant.

Also, it's already been concluded with Luigi being the victor. Could someone close the thread?
 
Mind me for necroing this already concluded thread, but has Luigi ever been able to time travel? Mario has many time stopping abilities and even if that time traveling thing is rejected where he time travels by jumping, having all equipment would give him his Time Machine, allowing for him to time travel in this battle. Mario also gets his starship where that MFTL+ speed feat came from.

This can be closed if these things were taken into account and people still believe Luigi should for some reason still win after this.
