Ruby Rose vs Maka Albarn

Since Ruby and Maka are in the same general ballpark power-wise now, would Maka still be able to beat her?
 
Ruby should win thanks to superior reactions and Maka's pretty bad durability.
 
Maka's building level Dura makes no sense....The MCB feats of Soul Eater are based on BS' physical hits, it should scales to Maka in dura.
 
Does Ruby have access to dust? if so she freeze Maka in place.

Even without it Ruby has superior range and speed to Maka and quite frankly I think Ruby is more strategic so she should win with high diff
 
Ruby has never used ice dust, so how could she use it in battle?

Ruby's bullets aren't that fast. Maka can just deflect them with Death Scythe Soul. Ruby isn't even strategic. She's more childish and reckless. Maka could outsmart her in that sense.

I could lean to inconclusive. However, I think Maka is much stronger in durability thanks to Black Blood.

Have you not seen episode one of volume 3? she can use ice dust

As for strategy she came up with a game winning strategy to kill the a nevermore with what little she knew about Weiss's and Blake's powers(which was practically nothing). Which is way more empressive than anything I can remember Maka doing. Just because Ruby is childish doesn't mean she can't think on her feet.

But how many times has Ruby used ice dust in other battles? It's not apart of her usual equipment. Besides that, when Ruby shot the guy, he wasn't looking. Who's to say he couldn't have dodged that? Team ARBN is power scaled to Team RWBY's Tier, they could easily dodged and collided with each other. So they would naturally have the same speed which means the guy Ruby shot likely would have dodged if he wasn't giving his full attention to Yang on the floor.

While Ruby has thought of strategies on spot, it is shown that her recklessness ended up get herself captured by a grunt. She could have ran, she was clearly faster. Now that's not to say Ruby is stupid, because being childish =/= stupid. Ruby has her own feats that make her intellectual, but in comparison to Maka, I would say Maka is the smarter one. Ruby's childish and reckless nature has gotten her into tough situations more than once.

Adding onto Maka's intellect, she was able to beat Witch Arachne using her own abilities against her. Maka didn't know anything about Arachne's abilities in their battle. All she knew was that Arachne was a force to be reckoned with. Maka > Ruby, strategically atleast.

While that is a reason she got caught, it questions was she not aware of her own weakness?
 
Am I the only one who thinks Maka will win because She and Soul have more experience. Don't get me wrong on this didn't Mak and Soul fight Crona? If not they still fought very powerful characters. Sure they had arguements but they are still good teamworkers besides Ruby is kinda arrogant and not that smart. Soul doesn't count as outside help since she can summon him whenever he wants.

Too bad this fight isn't valid anymore since Ruby got downgraded.
 
Hopefully Ruby and the rest of the cast will be more powerful at the end of the series, so hopefully this fight will be fair in the future.
 
Maka will win because she can use the Kishin Hunter, Witch Hunter, Demon Hunter and she can turn into a weapon herself and then beat her, and Maka really knows how to use a weapon because Ruby has a gun on hers and alot of upgrades. Ruby has no chance of her, espesially since Soul can use his black blood.
 
Let's compare stats

Maka

Attack Potency - Multi-City Block Level+

Durability - Multi-City Block Level+

Speed - Hypersonic+, much higher with teleportation

Ruby

Attack Potency - Large Building Level+ (with help from Weiss Schnee)

Durability - Large Building Level

Speed - Hypersonic+ with High Hypersonic reactions

Maka takes this with low dif

Ruby got a massive upgrade since this discussion started. Maka's profile should likely be reviewed as wll.
 
I'd say Ruby wins she's much faster and although she has worse book smarts she's a better tactician, plus Maka's best attacks are useless against the pure of heart
 
I say that Ruby would win. But what was stated in another post was true. Ruby has been through a lot with Volume 3 and we don't honestly know how powerful she is with her silver eyed warrior thing.
 
What with recent upgrades, I'd say Ruby can win due to her speed advantage and the fact that Maka's more powerful techniques won't work against the pure of heart, which Ruby counts as.

Ruby's silver eyed warrior abilities aren't really necessary anymore.
 
- Maka's deathblows will still affect "good" people. Otherwise, Black Star wouldn't have had to avoid her Witch Hunt when she tried it on Stein. Her soul wavelength just happens to act as a bane for evil, but it still amplifies Soul's form nonetheless. And remember that Soul's soul wavelength is still relevant, along with the fact that he's still a scythe with a huge cutting edge. When using a deathblow against Ruby, my guess is there would still be plenty of damage done, just not to the extent there would be if Ruby were evil.

- I guess none of that matters though, since Ruby's recent upgrades put her in a class above Maka.
 
We don't know enough about silver eyes to say for sure, but at the moment, Maka wins through surperior strength and durability, as well as having something to counter whatever Ruby can throw at her.
 
Except she doesn't, Ruby is as strong and durable as Maka and she's significantly faster in combat and reaction speed, as well as movement speed when using her semblance, not to mention she seems to be a better strategist than Maka and has better range.

When has Ruby ever displayed any real tactical knowledge? Face it, she's naive. Her range is a moot point, considering Maka can use witch hunter and genie hunter. Also, whereas Ruby's aura is finite, Maka's black blood dress is not. Ruby's movement speed is faster, but Maka has demonstrated MUCH faster combat speed.

When has Maka ever shown combat speed up to the level that is commonplace in RWBY? Have you not watched the show? Ruby has shown her tactical prowess in the fight with the nevermore, coming up with a plan to take it down making use of her teammates abilities while barely knowing them, as well as in the battle with Roman, and as the leader she's supposedly been the one in charge of their tactics in their various other battles. And although Maka's black blood may not have a limit to it she's much slower than Ruby, Ruby could easily dodge Maka's attacks, drastically reducing the amount of her aura that would be used, and really if she wanted to Ruby could blitz Maka before she even had a chance to use black blood.

As much as I love RWBY, is that really the case?


Aura is the projection of the soul, if I'm correct, Maka's attacks affect the SOUL. The Aura is what protects them from MCB levels of damage, and Maka bypasses it.


Am I wrong?
