Will this be Plot Manip?

If a character get inside a book as a 3rd perspective person(meaning just as an observer) so he can't effect the story but if he changes his perspective from 3rd person to 1st(becoming the protagonist itself) and changes the story to his accordance and effect it this time, will this be enough or I need more context?
