Why can't I upload some images?

So far, two images I tried to upload caused loading to slow down drastically and when the number hit 100%, the page crashed. I don't know why it happens when I clearly saw one of the images already uploaded on one's profile. Can someone explain to me what I have to do in order to fix this? It would greatly help me in the project I am currently working on, seeing as both images greatly correlate with the images I am having in my head.

What is picture file type?

Myself noted when it was not jpg. type, i couldn`t either upload images.
