Nothing in the original letter written by H.P. Lovecraft states that he is the supreme being, only that he dreams reality and is above The Dreamlands

The wiki doesn´t consider Azathoth to be superior to Yog, the ap justification only states he´s a part of the supreme archetype, in relation with Yog.

Thanks for the clarification. But where is it stated that he is even close to Yog-Sothoths level? I mean, from the way Azathoth's court is described, it seems to be lower than even the first gate.

Well he isn´t really close to him, the archetypes are what make up all of existence, with all things being merely one infinitesimal slice of it and these archetypes including Azathoth have the same relationship with the supreme archetype or yog sothoth. To clarify I was trying to say that the ap justification of Azathoth only mentions Yog when is states that he is a part Yog, I wasn´t saying he is close in power, And I don´t see where you are getting the part about Azathoth being below the first gate part from. Also for more explanation you can look at this thread.
