The Great Old One's are stated to exist in a Universe which has three layers of superimposed laws, with each higher layer of laws being completely beyond the logic of the last. Because of these beings belonging to different levels might as well exist in separate universes entirely as they are made up of these superimposed laws. To a higher level everything in a lower level is akin bacteria, with the very first level of laws including Humans and Modern-Day Science. As such higher-level beings are infinite to lower-level beings, and are unbound by aesthetics, mechanics and Euclidean Geometry. They operate the universe from a god's perspective and are incomprehensible to lower levels in every way, whether it be their substance, bodies, thoughts, language or very information.
