What is going on in this photo (Speed Feat)

So I was reading Ninja's latest book (War Of Dominions) when I noticed this possible speed feat

Does anyone know what's happening in this photo to cause those discs (I don't think it's a sonic boom but it's certainly faster than his current level of Peak Human).

It looks like he's leaving a shockwave as he's running, so he must be at least supersonic.

I think you gotta make sure he's creating that shockwave purely through speed, and not some special ability or AP or something.
