Wasted Potential

I get it, he doesn't fight for fun, he's not like Goku. But, when you come to the conclusion that it's OK to fight to protect (a conclusion he came to 7 years prior to that the Videl beatdown and subsequent events afterwards), you'd think that'd be more incentive to keep training and not to double down on the studying so much that you actually lose large portions of muscle mass.

Say what you will about Toyotaro, but he can write a Gohan. Chou Gohan was based, ngl.

Yeah you are right, I was just a little bit amazed that no one bringed him in this thread tho.

Chou Gohan is fine, but I would like if he reached Goku's and Vegeta's level. And alsi, as you said I rather prefer a balance between studying and training.
 
While I'm at it with Dragon Ball....

Goten and Trunks - Them bois got even higher potential than Gohan, but for some reason haven't achieved SSJ2 in spite of being "super prodigies". To see them grow throughout the course of Super and begin to start to become the next generation Goku aspired for would be epic and also somewhat heartwarming.

Speaking of the next generation...

Goku - He's a great flat character, don't get me wrong. However, I think he's been exhausted as a protagonist. It'd be dope to see things go full circle and have Goku relegated to a mentor-like position, while still being Goku and doing Goku things (e.g. getting stronger, fighting strong opponents, etc.).

This. They're just talented to be talented and that's it, said talent never actually plays a part in the story or allows them to get stronger.

It also just doesn't seem that appealing after reading it like 2 times. Once you realize that humans don't really matter, you sort of just stop caring and the point of the story's become meaningless.

A lot of books have bad shit in them. That doesn't mean the government is going to take the time to ban it.
 
Every Straw Hat but Luffy - As much as I love One Piece, Luffy always solves all the conflict. Granted, there are team efforts involved with that, but it's monotonous. All the Straw Hats fight fodder, with the exception of the Monster Trio, who fight the first, second and third strongest normally. I thought Wano was changing that but it looks like it's returning to form. I get that he's the main character and all, but could we have a conflict that's not solved by "main character stronk go brr"?

Yeah I know, but we all know this, if the goverment wanted to do something, I'm sure they would.

They even banned some sexiest books back in the 80s IIRCC

But yeah, you are right in that part, the goverment has better things to do than checking some bizarre stuff in books.
 
Not exactly wasted but The Spectacular Spider-Man - I wish that show would have continued, man. I'm not going to say it was wasted because it was cancelled by an evil beyond the creator's control cough Disney. cough
