Introductio

This is less of a valid calculation but a tier approximation for a feat. Using Dredd's car holding feat (Pictured below, given by MrKingOfNegativity), I have approximated the durability for Dredd at 9-A, Small Building level.

Somewhat logical calculatio
Weight of the car with the family is supposedly far higher than 500 kgs as stated by the father. I'll assume the car's dimensions are approx. the same as a Volkswagen Beetle

A8FE9D68-C1B1-4C52-9C62-98345896E2A5-10073-00000B846470FCF4
Dredd's Durability feat

Total weight of car= 840 kgs. + 500 kgs.= 1340 kgs. =1340 kg

Gravitational force experienced by the car= 1340 g. X 9.81= 13145.400 N

Length of a beetle is 4.13 m

Therefore

Momentum = Fd = 13145.400 x 4.13 Nm = 5429.0502 J ~~ 5.43 x 10^5 J or Wall level

This is all assuming a fair car size however, so lets use a lowball situation.

Absolute lowest situation calculatio
Let us assume the car has the same length as Toyota iQ, the smallest four seated car (3 metres), and the same weight as LCC Rocket, the lightest car in the world (381 kgs.).

Weight of car = 881 kgs. = 881000 g

Force exherted = 881000 x 9.81 = 8642610 N

Length of car = 3 metres.

=> Momentum = Fd = 8642610 x 3 Nm = 25927830 J or approx 2.59 x 10^5 J, still 9-B

Problems with the approximatio
Dredd has no official given height, therefore calculating the exact numbers will be nightmarish, so I didn't bother with it.

I'll be honest about the fact that I haven't read a 2000 A.D. comic since I was still in high school, so my knowledge of the source is tenuous at best.

That said, in regards to whether or not this is an outlier, there's an extremely comprehensive and well-sourced respect thread here which has just about all of his feats from before a certain point, as well as an entire section explaining necessary context. I believe we can use it to our advantage.

My only experience with it was from an old PS2 game, so you're doing better than me atleast.

Seeing the respect thread, even though it's barely finished, seems to me as if 9-A isn't that big of a stretch for him.

Yeah, one thing that's always been the case with 2000 A.D. alongside Anderson and Hershey being wife material is that Dredd's strength and durability showings have consistently been full of wild Tier 9 stuff. In fact, all of the Judges are trained from youth to be alpha as ****, and Dredd is easily one of the best.

There are other feats in that RT (mostly involving moderately giant robots) which might solidify a 9-A rating entirely, especially since other Judges ca harm Dredd despite him generally being stronger than the average one.

So M = FD.

M is Momentum, F I assume is Force and D is distance?

The first issue is you're using grams, I believe the calculation calls for kilograms. Thus this is vastly inflated. Using grams would cause normal humans to be fairly high in 9-B IIRC.

...I was wondering why the hell someone would be 9-A for supporting a car. Even if said car had a bunch of horrifically fat people in it.

Oh that makes sense...

So now its wall level on adjusting. Hmm, so no tier change but still a confirmation for 9-B ig

So I know most Momentum calculations are p = mv, where p = momentum, m = mass, and v = velocity. The idea here is one I've heard of but not sure if it is being applied accurately. Basically, this assumes all force is applied over the entirety of the car which isn't neccesarily true from what I know.

TL;DR this calc is different from momentum calculations I'm familiar with (I know Force x Time = Momentum?) so I dunno on this one from the premise, chief.

It was based off the mcu spider-man ferry holding calc formula. Idk, if it is that bad I might as well remove this thread

I could be wrong man. I don't think many people on this site understand that I'm not an engineer. I came here in high school, read all the pages and about three hundred calc blogs and became a copycat lol. If there's anyone to reasonably doubt, it's me since all my knowledge is self-taught. I'll look into it a bit and see if I can't find something.

I'll convert it into a Blog format then. It might be a tier justification atleast.
