Universal space times

Why do universes within universes need statements for separate space times, to count for scaling?

For an example, a universe in my verse has many small universes inside them, but I’ve been told because they don’t have “seperate” space times, it doesn’t count towards anything.

Why is that, and why does that make any sense? A universe is a universe, if three universes are stacked why do they need separate time and space? Sharing a spacetime doesn’t mean it’s one gigantic universe, just that they operate under the same flow of past, present, and future. It’s still three universes regardless.

That would just mean that the universes are much bigger than a standard 3-A cosmology but are still low 2-C when accounting for space time.
