Depending of how is interpreting:
- Exagerating, erase EEUU from the map via vaporizing would be 7429734*10^10*760*100*25600 = 1.445*10^26 J = 34.55 Petatons (High 6-A). It doesn't consider Alaska since is way separated from the rest of the states.
- Vaporizing all the people in EEUU would yield 3.45*10^16 J = 8.243 Megatons. But that would consider the damage to all the structures. It also consider the people from Alaska.
- An explosion at ground level that cause the 99% of death from most of EEUU (again, not Alaska), would be 80.3686*10^(-6)*(48630.83)^3 = 9.243 Gigatons = 3.867*10^19 J. But that doesn't ensure you that all the country was vaporized.
