Don't remember the scene, but weren't he diverting those spits? if he was truly immune to that he could just stand there without bother in divert them; this seems to be the case in manga, where he isn't immune to that.

Also I am not sure why you are always bringing up the manga to try and argue DBS being weaker, when people keep saying that manga is secondary canon and what happens in the anime takes precedence.
