Alm Conqueror art
Chrom
Since Marth fought Lucina, let's have Alm and Chrom fight eachother to see who comes out on top.
High 6-B versions are used.

Who wins?

Alm : 7

Chrom : 1

Inconclusive:

Hmm, Alm struggled to fight Baby Grima where as Chrom fought full grown/Nigh Continent sized Grima. Just kidding. However, Chrom should have the advantage via Aether, which both negates durability and heals himself equal to the damage dealt.

Fandom ate my most so I have to retype.

Alm doesn't abuse Mila's Turn Wheel and it's pretty limited. It might help him correct some mishaps, but in the end. I think it would at best delay the inevitable as Aether is still pretty OP.

This fight really makes me realize how bare Chrom's page looks compared to Alm's...We don't even mention Falchion's healing abilities on Chrom's page.

Well, they both fought big bads of pretty comparable sizes and threats who compare pretty well, they both had huge adventures and are reigning leaders for their armies, and they both even the same (well copies of the same) sword. So Strength, Skill, and even Gear don't tip the scales too much here.

Alm has a ranged attack, which is a major point in his favor, and the ability to get small bursts of time to go back briefly and try again is super useful.

But Mila's Turn Wheel doesn't last forever, even if Alm does spam it, and damage and advantage on Chrom is lost since everything turns back with it. It's more a 'do over' than your typical time-hax advantage. And Falchion's natural power to heal, along with the two being pretty on par, means the ranged attacks probably won't put Chrom down before the distance is closed for CQC, and the damage is somewhat lessened when Chrom gets there.

And Chrom's gimmick attack negates defenses and heals himself even more in one 'motion'...The second Chrom closes the gap he gets a ridiculously good amount of advantage. He's hitting harder than Alm is suddenly, Alm can't tank or block the attack as well, and the attack heals off the damage done to Chrom.

Turning back with this knowledge would be useful, but Chrom only has one goal and that's to pin Alm down. Making time for the motions of that range attack means Alm's going to lose ground doing it, and Falchion's natural healing is going to help mitigate the damage as Chrom plays catchup. Once Chrom's in close, Alm's options stop having major advantages and he can't defend against Aether's pair of really decent effects. It's not an easy fight, but Chrom has everything he needs to tank until he can overwhelm up close. I vote for the one who somehow got into Smash.

Yeah, some of the Awakening Profiles are kind of bare bones, and some powers and abilities are missing. Same thing could be said for ones in other time periods.

Just another thing on the neverending list of profiles to touch-up, huh? We'll find the time to give them a little love, eventually.

Yeah, i've noticed no mage has sleep manipulation in their profiles despite the sleep staff being in most games.

But that's a topic for another thread, for now that's 2 votes for Chrom.

I am going to side with Alm in this one. Chrom's only advantage, Aether, can be countered by Mila's Turnwheel since it can give Alm Precognition which would make him able to dodge more often than not Aether while keeping Mila's Turnweel uses to situations that Alm had disadvantages, this is supported as Alm can get precognition of future events in his game even if you abused Mila's Turnwheel uses.

About Chrom's healing capacities with Falchion, Alm has also that so it balances. Alm is the more experimented lord and the smarter fighter in the battlefield due several reasons, mainly Rigel's blood and capable to fight alone in very dangerous battles.

And Alm has also the range and the capacity of nulify Chrom's own power in battlefield, so it would be more effective than Aether.

Power Nullification is kind of limited and is not applicable against Aether iirc. It was more so against darker powers I thought. Also, Grima is overall considered the stronger villain than Duma given that Duma lost to Naga even with Mila's help where as Grima was able to overpower her in the end. Aether also heals Chrom faster than in addition to having regular healing.

And actually, Chrom is a bit older and does have more notable one on one matches such as Lucina stomping Lon-Qu and Chrom besting her. Though, Walhart feat is in the same boat as Alm facing Rudolf.

Being older isn't necessarily being more experimented when both wars are compared. Also is Alm the one who has the more notable match without help, being the quest for the Valentian Falchion and the trial alone.

Grima being stronger than Duma doesn't hold much in terms of strenght due two main factors. The first one being that Alm had way much less trouble dealing with Duma than Chrom and the shepherds against Grima, this includes Lucina and Robin. The other factor is that the scaling doesn't make Chrom stronger than Grima, but Alm being stronger, specially because Valentian Falchion was created just to stop both Duma and, with evidence of Falchion sealing her, Mila.

Grima > Naga >> Chrom=Robin=Lucina.

Naga > Alm >> Duma = Mila

Talking about Valentian Falchion, Power Nullification can nulify beings powered by a power, not just darker powers. This statement holds due this sword can also stop Gods that can't be considered to be dark such as Mila and Duma. On Duma's case is interesting as he is not really a dark deity, he is an Anima god which is different from dark, and Falchions are swords that increases the user capacities, so Alm can just nulify Chrom's power.

Also, due precognition has not limited uses. Aether is more likely just be dodged, so healing is most likely not going to happen and even if it happens, Mila's Turnwheel can alow him to be on a safer spot and adapt, something that Chrom couldn't do.

Alm just has many more options that Chrom due better range option, higher AP, speed advantage due precognition, battlefield advantage and Mila's Turnwheel utility.

Switching votes to Alm after thinking it over.
