well, I guess he's being bullied by other asteroids for being too big and fat so he need to vent his frustration somewhere
or it may have realized that its action is wrong when it's inside the atmosphere but too late anyway

nah bro it can just turn around. it knows if it crashes down with the courier in existence it will have a negative impact on fishing season.
