How does Purification work?

From what I've seen when playing the game, the entire "area" meant to be purifcated shines with white light, and suddenly almost everything is erased from existance. What survives and what doesn't is kind of random, but mostly all living beings and almost all artificial things are erased, colours and even spirits are also purged from existance.

However, I am skeptical to say that it can affect beings of the Batter's level. At least, not at full power. The only times he managed to purify people of his own level was when he had already defeated them in combat. Either they must be weakaned, or it isn't really practical in combat.

Isn't Batter like 100 times above baseline 4-B or something like that. Cloud is a million of times above baseline
