Just some additional justifications to Superman's Instinctive Reaction thread. All scans are from Man of Steel #89
During the battle against Dominus, Superman explicitly says he needs to not think, just react, and when they further explained the Theta State, that he's not truly awake and thinking, so Dominus can't use his thoughts against him.
Between Superman's first attack on Dominus when he explictly says he's not thinking, and the Theta state being characterized by using brainwaves that are only released when meditating or asleep and explictly NOT awake and thinking, I feel that's more than enough proof for instinctive reactions for Post Crisis Superman in addition to his current "instinctively pulls punches" reasoning
