Star Wars Discussion Thread II Attack of the Comments

from what i can see this is what most people say

  • Darker Than Empire
  • Great acting from both Leia and Luke
  • Impressive Action scenes
  • Overall fans putting it between A New hope and Empire or Third.

Yeah. Most reviews I also saw had nothing but praise for Fisher's and Hamill's acting. Adam Driver as well.

^_^ gonna be good, just a feeling
Yeah, I have a feeling I'm really going to enjoy this film. And I really enjoyed Force Awakens and Rogue One so that means something.

there really isnt any star wars film i dont enjoy, yes i acknowledge some have major problems and good of been better but i still enjoy them. as much as most people dont want to admit it.

the most important thing about a movie is that it just needs to be entertaining.

So TNT actually aired the original trilogy last night and I watched them and they hold up so freakin well imo although I hear people consider Return of The Jedi the weakest film not sure why tho

i find the first act and the rest of the movie not to fit so well, feels like a huge tone shift but nothing to major.

when i was younger actually a New hope was my least fav but as time went by it became one of my favorites.

So... The Last Jedi is premiering one day early in select Indian cities. It's premiering on Thursday here and the theatres it's premiering in are not too far off from my house.

So... Thursday or Friday or Saturday? What to do?

Yeah I won't be able to see it until a week later so I'll probably avoid any Last Jedi threads here til then

oh wait, different timezones, you will get it a bit earlier than me, i think india is slightly ahead of south africa.

Last Jedi tickets for Thursday evening booked.

"Luke Skywalker's self destruction 4-B feat"

._.

<br / Based on this feat, Obi-Wan has a blatant town level durability feat.
He was blasted by the Slave I's auto-blasters. They're much weaker. Still Low 7-C to 7-C though.

Also, Vader in the Skywalker Strikes arc of the canon comics does have a blatant 7-C durability feat. Walks away from a direct volley from the laser cannons of an AT-AT with only his helmet knocked off. He gets another 7-C durability feat right after that one. And let's not forget Vader walking away from the destruction of the Sith temple on Malachor. Someone should calc that. Bloody temple was the size of a mountain.

Is that the one where Vader tanked a factory exploding with him in it?
Yeah. That was just a few pages after he walked away from the AT-AT laser cannon blast Han gave him.

<br / How Spacebattles treats Star Wars in a nutshell really
In the Al'doleem arc of the 2017 Vader comics, Vader threw a boulder right into the face Jedi Master Kirak Infil'a with such force that it shattered completely. Infil'a just shrugged it off like it was nothing.

That has to be an outlier. May be that boulder was made of sand. Or Papier Mache.

I mean it seems likely we all know Star Wars rocks are made of Paper Mache obviously because anything superhuman in SW is a complete myth

Actually it being sand is quite impressive considering it's course, rough and irritating and it gets everywhere.
