Well, as I mentioned earlier, the problem is just that the Spongebob characters are so small. What appears to be a large nuclear explosion to them, would not be nearly as large to us.

Except that's not the case here. They used actual nuke footage that reached actual cloud heights and not the flower clouds SpongeBob has. The nuke should be town level anyway since that's what it takes for one to make a mushroom cloud.

And just for icing on the cake, that nuke footage was used on purpose because it was one of the nukes used at Bikini Atoll. Sounds familiar right?

The fact that you're trying to argue actual nuke footage because of the (heavily varying BTW) sizes of the cast makes no sense at all.

Squidward normally wouldn't scale since he's done nothing that puts him on the levels of the rest of the main cast, but thanks to the episode where he's trained by Sandy in combat and then demonstrated his skills by cutting SpongeBob in half, he probably should.
