• Loop 1-2: B comes to help A, but B dies. A is saved.
• Loop 3: B comes to help A, but the rescue is not successful. A and B die.
• Loop 4-5: C comes to help A and B, but C and B die. A is saved.
• Loop 6-7: D comes to help A and B, but A is the only one who is saved. B and D die.
• Loop 8: D comes to help A, B, and C. Everyone is saved.

The mission is a success.

If it's time travel, it means that the characters solve events by resolving them multiple times and succeed.

Does this create a new timeline? This is because previous attempts to edit the timeline have been unsuccessful in different ways.

You should be the one to answer this, I think if they remain after someone change the past then there is multiple timelines.
