First off i applaud the originality of this post. Second, i don't know how a magic fight will play out between the 2, but i do know Daniel has a varied arsenal compared to SK, and he's got summoning capabilities. For those reasons, Daniel takes it.

Yeah, going with Sir Daniel as well. Much more versatility in his weaponry, has potent Magic (haven't played the game in years so I forgot to what extent), better range etc.

Shovel Knight does have a larger arsenal than people give him credit for; for instance, he can become temporarily intangible.

I'm going with Shovel Knight, because if the expansions are considered cannon, he has fought with Kratos and the Battletoads and won both times. Also, Shovel Knight has likely much more experience as an adventurer and fighter than Sir Daniel.
