Should Garnet's Future Vision be considered Causality Manipulation?

"I can see options and trajectories. Time is like a river that splits into creeks or pools into lakes or careens down waterfalls. I have the map, and I steer the ship."

Okay, it's not EXACTLY Causality Manipulation, but in practice it might as well be...

Thoughts?

It is, she can see different futures and then take action to reach the desired result and avoid an unwanted outcome. Its indirect causality manipulation via precog.

What JustSomeWeirdo said sounds like being able to see the future and then using that knowledge to navigate it to me, rather than manipulating cause and effect.

She's not directly manipulating causality, she's indirectly manipulating it by using precog to chose what future outcome she gets and what she avoids. Its not conventional but she's still picking and choosing what effect she gets and what causes she needs in order to get there.

Wouldn't causality manipulation imply that she change the way cause and effect works? What Garnet does is more choosing the right cause to obtain the right effect, but she still operates within the regular laws of causality

@Kalitas No that's manipulating the concept of causality. Causality Manipulation is redirecting a selected cause to a desired effect, which Garnet does in reverse; She picks a desired effect and then takes necessary action to reach said outcome while avoiding unwanted ones.

But wouldn't that give literally any character with a good enough precog causality manipulation? For instance Carla (Fairy Tail) whose power literally allows her to see numerous potential futures and decide on her actions based on whatever she sees? I don't think that's right, this just seems like taking advantage of normal precog to me

That wouldn't be Causality Manipulation, that's quite literally just choosing to take certain actions to get a better outcome, it's like if I happened to have a guide for a video game and happened to be at a point where there were branching paths and decided to choose the path I like best because I had read the guide about that the branching paths lead to

It's just taking advantage of precog just like how most users of the ability already do

But each action would always have the same effect. What Garnet does is basically having a map which shows her the way to reach a place.

She knows how to do it, but she can't do it in a different way
