Shirley lacks any regenerative ability or meaningful resistances, so assuming he starts with trying to nuke/hax 682 to death there's nothing that's going to really keep 682 from just nuking him back after adapting his powers.

If Shirley doesn't open up explosively there's ways he can incon 682, but the moment he tries anything big he's opening the door to take what he dishes out.
