Sandbox vs userblog

I plan on working on a verse in the future and currently familiarising myself with the tools.
One question I have is, is there a difference between using a sandbox or a userblog? If so what are the differences?

And this is unrelated but if you have pointers to share in creating a profile or verse page, feel free to share. And if there's already a thread for it, point me in the right direction.

There isn’t much difference. With Sandbox, you can allow other users to help work on it, meaning anyone can edit it.
Userblog, on the other hand, is private. Only you can edit it, while admins may access it in certain cases if needed.
