they have approximately equal hax, I could say inconclusive but Mercury has a higher AP and a higher speed (not much) otherwise it could lock it up in the hyperarea to prevent it from acting, attack afterwards.

Mercury moves through SPACE.
What's stopping Magolor from say, his Flickering Practical Hellbender? What's keeping him from messing up the space Mercury has to exist in and move through, what's stopping him from converting space into deadly energy?
Hell, he can change the laws of the universe to restrict Mercury's power dramatically.
