Ryuga in the first season of Beyblade Metal was a power hungry maniac and the main villain. He didn’t care about ethics, morals, or how he gained power. All he cared about was getting stronger, no matter the method. This continued until his fight with Leon,
where he actually chose to fight fairly without relying on absorbed power and experieced bey spirit meaning for first time and liked that feeling. However,
he eventually lost control over L-Drago, became its puppet, and got corrupted. In the end, Gingka defeated him using the power of his friends and saved him.
In the second season, Ryuga learned from his mistakes and reflected on them. He
gained full control over L-Drago,
overcame the dark power, and
was able to push its powers to the highest level possible. At that point, the dark power was basically nothing to him. He even
helped the protagonist, Gingka Hagane, improve, though he never openly admitted it. He
also warned him not to lose to bladers he didn’t even consider real bladers, since they relied on artificial boosts instead of Bey Spirit or proper fair fights. Even though those opponents were among the strongest in that season, Ryuga never acknowledged them. Throughout the season, he almost never showed his full power, maybe except against Twisted Tempo. Most of the time, he just played with his opponents and defeated them with a massive gap. He also looked down on stamina or sleep-out matches, calling them boring since they didn’t rely on raw power. By then, Ryuga lived in isolation, often around volcanoes or in the wild, and feared no one. He clearly dominated the entire season and stood as the strongest blader in the world.
In the third season, Ryuga gained the power of a Star Fragment, something only chosen individuals receive. Not only did he become stronger, but he also evolved L-Drago’s abilities. Lightning L-Drago depended on dark power to absorb others’ strength, but that power wasn’t truly his. L-Drago destructo, on the other hand, could absorb power using its own ability and make it its own. He easily defeated
top bladers like Kiyoya and Gingka one after another without rest. Not just that,
he dominated a battle involving multiple legendary bladers and even those who could keep up with them, all in the same place. His presence alone was enough to intimidate many strong bladers, and
some even backed off without fighting.
Eventually, he went up against the God of Destruction alone, an entity said to have the power of all the strongest bladers in the series, including the legendary ones and even Ryuga himself. Even then, Ryuga held his ground and earned its recognition. He fought until the very end, making it clear that no matter who stood in front of him, whether it was a god or anyone else, he wouldn’t back down. He died fighting.
