In doing so we are giving the trolls exactly what they want.

What exactly is the problem? Getting 10 edits first kind of isnt a bad or hard thing really. You can get edits just by commenting on other threads.

Well, given that the relentless harrassment has involved a massive amount of death and rape threats, genocide endorsements, disgusting **** and gore, extreme vandalism, and even child pornography, and that a police investigation will likely open soon, it seems like Fandom considers it as a less bad option to temporarily close the wiki from new accounts until they get information regarding what to do from the authorities.
However, I obviously do not like that innocent new members will not be able to join the wiki for the time being either.

Mckmal is the one responsible for the illegal side of things right? Or was it someone else?

You have to have 10 edits on this wiki, not globally

The new users can't even make any edits, if the discussion forum is anything to go by, and we don't know what kind of edits they even need to even get into this wiki to begin with. But I digress

Mckmal and Jirenchi apparently had a small team of trolls helping them out, but as we have mentioned many times before, we shouldn't talk about them and their motivations here.

Exactly. This was their decision, not ours, and it was not one that they enjoyed to take. They simply felt forced by the circumstances.
