Regarding Boruto, are we only using the Manga as canon?

The reason I ask is the anime is covering the academy days and appears to semi-explain the origin of Boruto's dojutsu so it may be canon as well. Should we simply wait for the anime to catch up to the manga? What do we do if the anime blows past the manga like with DBS, would the anime be the new canon by default?

The manga came first and the anime is covering canon filler episodes prior to Momoshiki. Momoshiki will be in Boruto, there is no debate there. How else are they gonna explain the manga events?

I think he means what if the anime reaches and passes the manga, then what happens then

If he is talking about filler feats, they still count as the anime is canon, even the filler scenes are canon. We can use both, like DBS.

So they're going to adapt the Momoshiki thing again? Can't they just skip it? I mean, the fight itself.

I don't think he's referring to filler feats, it's kinda like how the DB super anime is starting a whole new arc but the manga is still at the Zamasu arc. What if such a thing happens; where the anime catches up with and passes the manga entering an arc that while canon the manga will only reach much later

@AppleLord, oh so we can use both manga and anime feats?

@Burning Full Fingers, this is studio pierrot we're talking about, they milk as much as Toei. Besides, the manga did change a few things regarding the Boruto movie so it obviously has to be animiated again -_-

I think I saw something about Kishi supervising both manga and anime, but I could be wrong. Don't quote me on that.

Yes,the anime has to go over Momoshiki arc again, they change the story so its revelant to Boruto's future and the way the fight ended in the manga, well, we will may or not see Momoshiki again in the future.

The anime is canon, there should be no debate about that. The anime should only be considered Higher than the Manga from the point it passes the Manga IF IT EVEN DOES!

dragon ball super shouldn't even be brought up as it is stated that the anime is primary canon.

So the question is, is the Baruto anime canon? Please provide proof and not just say "its canon"

Well, now the Boruto anime has reintroduced Toneri. I don't see how the Boruto manga can be considered the primary canon at this point. By going from the manga we are led to believe that Boruto gains his eye ability after the momoshiki fight but now the anime contradicts that by giving it to him pre-academy. Toneri is even used to warn Boruto about the arrival of momoshiki and kinshiki (I think).

...Hanabi <3

Man, Hyuga girls ;)

That stated I love how the Hyuga clan seems to have changed a bit. Neji would be proud of the progress.
