So, this is going to be interesting. I know rats and squirrels have contended with each other for food, but not once had I seen a squirrel or a rat fight each other. Let's set up a hypothetical scenario. We have our rat and squirrel, right? Well, let's have them both bloodlusted so they could actually fight each other. So things can be fairer, the squirrel's and rat's diseases are both restricted (I don't think a rat would even be affected by squirrelpox, but whatever). Well, the squirrel is naturally bigger than the rat, so that would likely give it the advantage.

Also, according to my severely shortened research, squirrels do prey on mice and rats occasionally, as well as small birds, and that it's very common for animal matter to exist within the stomachs of squirrels.

I just mean on average. Obviously there's plenty of exceptions, since they're so close in size.

I mean, that rat didn't actually harm the cats, they got scared because they didn't expect such a small animal to be that aggresive. And that rat was considered a "giant", so I doubt that the average rat will be the same size.

Plus, we all know that in R U S S I A , mice prey on cats, duh.
