Question aboute separation of space-time continuum

So, in 2 vsbw pages. It says if a structure separate of space-time continumm then it would be considered 4d spatially or 5d if we add temporal dimension.
Separation
Why is it?
I think it is because in vsbw space-time is uncountably infinite larger than 3d space. So, a 3d space can't separate those structure which is uncountably infinitely larger than them. So, we need extra dimension for it.
