Is it fair to equalize speed when the main gimmick of a character is his speed?
For example: Flash (Barry Allen) (Post-Crisis) VS Spawn

Yes because equalizing speed doesnt make it so he cant still use his powers

I seriously don't get why people have an issue with equalizing speed or the Flash.

In simple terms, you still have your abilities that would be considered a mainstay in a vs debate. For instance, Flash still has molecular phasing, infinite mass punch etc etc.Crazylatin77 said:

I'm not arguing against the idea for, like, rules and shit, just stating my subjective opinion. Lol speed blitz is still an argument for how out of the opponent's league he is, unless there's no way for the Flash to effectively get around their defenses or mount an effective offense-- which, in both cases means it's kind of a mismatch. Same with tiering and durability shit. Sometimes a simple statement of fact is all that's needed and there's no argument to be had. Flash (but human level and all powers besides speed removed) vs Bruce Lee speed unequalized. Who wins? The guy who speed blitzes...
As a side note, what does Speed Equalized mean exactly? I might be a degenerate who could just look it up on the wiki here, but does it just mean combat (as in Attack Speed) and reaction speed equalized, or does it mean all forms of speed are Equalized.

Let me clarify how I view a vs debate.
The easiest and honestly the worst argument I can see is speed blitz.
Because then..where is the debate?
That is why we have hax stomps as well.
That is a disservice to debating in general imo.
But that isn't an argument. If something happens with certainty, then it is probably a flawed debate/question and thus shouldn't be discussed. (I basically take a philosophical approach to the whole idea)
And also, you are using a very extreme example. Just because someone main point is 'speed' doesn't mean that they cant do other stuff. 99 percent of characters that are this way have other stuff they can do.
And speed equalized is total speed equalization. Everything happens at the exact same speed.
