Question about scrapped content

So, one of athe verses that I'm a supporter has a boss, this boss suffered a rework by the studio that makes the game, changing its skills and the battle against its.

So... My questions are:
The old content should be removed from the profile and replaced by the new one, right?
In this case, what happens to the previous content? is it simply deleted? Does it become a new key? Can it be used if referenced?

I think it would be like Orochi's fight with Saitama, which was completely reworked and the feats from the old fight are not used anymore.

Since the old content was completely removed and reworked, it can't be used anymore

Depends. If it's not retconned out of existence and admitted to be canon via references or what-have-you, I believe it can be used.
