If a game is remade by its original company, do we consider new content present in the remake canon?

Well, that's a reboot, not a remake, they're very different. By remake, I mean stuff like the PSP version of Final Fantasy I or the upcoming remake for Final Fantasy VII.

It depends. If the remake is intended to expand upon or replace things that happened in the original, then likely so. If there are drastic differences, it might need to be separated.

Thanks for the answer Azzy. That was my standing on it as well.

By the way, you hyped for the Final Fantasy VII remake as well?

A good example of the former would be the Final Fantasy Tactics and Tactics Ogre PSP remakes.

(I LOVE THOSE 2 GAMES....ESPECIALLY TACTICS OGRE)

@Azathoth

Imagine how glorious Supernova will look, or how amazing One-Winged Angel will sound.

@Skodwarde

Never played Final Fantasy Tactics, what's different about those versions?
